| Principal's Message |
Dear Cheetah Community,
Thank you very much to all of the PTA members, parent volunteers, student volunteers and the community for making the Walkathon such a success! It was so heart warming to see the students extremely excited and determined to earn their bracelets while parents set up picnic blankets along the sideline cheering them on! The food, as always, was fantastic and extra kudos to those parents cooking us food during the heat! If you missed the walkathon and would still like to donate to support our PTA, which in return supports classroom funds, school activities, and field trip funds, please do so! You can always reach out to [email protected] for further donations or to donate your time to help with the next event! Keep us in mind for corporate matching of donations in the upcoming months!
Let’s keep the community spirit going tonight at our Multicultural Potluck!

Conferences are strongly preferred to take place in person, but also available online if that works better for your schedule. Our goal is to get all parents to participate in these special meetings so we can further the partnership to support your child!

What is it?
The Arts Wheel is a new, free, weekly after school class for our students in grades K-5. We will have multiple fun themes over the course of the year such as Crafts, Painting & Murals, and Digital Photography & Graphic Design. The classes will be taught by local teaching artists Shivika Nayyar, Eddie Ramirez, and Sophie Twitchell.
Why is it called a “Wheel”?
Each after school class teacher will spend 8 weeks at a school before moving on to another school for the next “rotation”. This way, all participating schools will be able to experience the topic in which each teacher specializes.
How frequent are the classes, and how long is each class?
The once-per-week classes will be approximately 45 minutes long and take place over 8 weeks. For Rotation 1, our Arts Wheel teacher will be on campus on Wednesdays and Fridays. There will be one kinder and one 1st-5th grade class on Wednesdays as well as one kinder class and one 1st-5th grade class on Fridays.
Who is it for?
**If your child is already participating in after school YMCA or Beyond the Bell, they will automatically participate in the Arts Wheel through their after school program - no need to register!**
If your child is not in YMCA or BTB, you may register during the registration period using the link provided.

Important Notice RE: Items dropped off during school hours.
One of our core values at Theuerkauf is Responsibility. There has been a large increase in items forgotten and dropped off items during the day. Sometimes it is challenging to get items to students in a timely manner and we want to minimize interruptions of lessons during class time so all students can stay focused on their education.
Please support your child at home by going through a quick checklist before leaving: Warm jacket, hat or gloves if needed, lunch box, backpack, instrument, homework, etc.
Thank you for supporting our core value of Responsibility and minimizing classroom interruptions.
If you do need to drop off a forgotten item please label it with the following so there is no confusion or mix ups. Please note that the office staff will do their best to get it to the students in a timely manner:
-
Student name
-
Grade
-
Teacher and Room #

Some of the topics include:

Mental Health Resources for Students
As the school year starts, it's important for students to know that help is available for mental health challenges that may arise. Check out these posters for information. Other resources are available at our Virtual Wellness Center under the Mental Health tab. You can always reach out to your school counselor, too. We are here to help.
Vision and Hearing Screenings
MVWSD conducts hearing and vision screenings of all students in TK/kindergarten, second-, fifth- and eighth-grade, as California State Law mandates. These screenings will take place:
Parents will be notified in writing if children fail a screening. Parents who do not want their child screened for either vision and/or hearing should send a letter to their child's school each school year indicating that their child is to be excluded, and vision and/or hearing results will need to be provided by their physician.
If you have any concerns about your child’s vision or hearing, please contact your school nurse. Questions about the screenings should be directed to the Health Services office at 650-526-3500 ext. 1050.
In 2024–25, YOUR donations to MVEF made a big impact!
Thanks to our amazing donor community, MVEF funded art and music for every TK–5 student (2,600+ art lessons, 3,850+ music lessons, 80+ concerts, and 560 recorders for 4th graders), hands-on science (695 Living Classroom lessons and 39 field trips), smaller middle school English classes, and robust middle school opportunities (sports, 45 clubs, musical productions, and more).
Made possible through the partnership of MVWSD, MVEF, PTAs/PACT—and YOU! Together we enrich learning for every student, every school.
Donate today to help continue this great impact! And don’t forget to check here if your employer matches.
