 Principal's Message

Dear Cheetah Community,

5th grade completes their state testing this week with the CAST.  Students take the CAST in 5th, 8th, and in high school, so this is their first time. Go, 5th Grade!

Next week, grades K-5 will have iReady testing. We will start with Math, and then move to Reading. Families will receive reports after iReady Diagnostic 3 testing is complete.

IREADY TEST SCHEDULE  - Week of 5/12/25:

5th - Math: Monday & Tuesday

K-4th - Math: Tuesday and Wednesday

K-5th - Reading: Thursday and Friday

As always, please make sure that your student has a good night of sleep and a good breakfast!

We are going to keep up our morning cheering through next week - don’t be too shy to join us! We have plenty of pom poms!

STAFF APPRECIATION WEEK

It is only Wednesday and the staff is already feeling the love of the community! Thank you to everyone who has reached out to a teacher or staff member to thank them for their hard work and care for the students. THANK YOU!

FUN VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY on 5/23 during school

Join us to volunteer during an interactive planetarium experience on 5/16! Students will be in the MUR under a sky dome with a docent who will guide them through our sky so they can interact with the universe and constellations.

This event will be our final whole-school on-site assembly and will take place during the final weeks of school when our teachers need to prepare report cards. To help facilitate this if you can volunteer to chaperone for a portion of the day it will be greatly appreciated.  Here is the link

Thank you!

Important Notice RE: Items dropped off during school hours.

One of our core values at Theuerkauf is Responsibility. There has been a large increase in items forgotten and dropped off items during the day. Sometimes it is challenging to get items to students in a timely manner and we want to minimize interruptions of lessons during class time so all students can stay focused on their education.

Please support your child at home by going through a quick checklist before leaving: Warm jacket, hat or gloves if needed, lunch box, backpack, instrument, homework, etc.

Thank you for supporting our core value of Responsibility and minimizing classroom interruptions.

If you do need to drop off a forgotten item please label it with the following so there is no confusion or mix ups. Please note that the office staff will do their best to get it to the students in a timely manner:

  1. Student name

  2. Grade

  3. Teacher and Room #

Library News

Theuerkauf library will close on May 16, 2023 to allow for end-of-year processes. Please help your student find all of their library books and return them in a timely manner. If books have been lost or damaged, please contact Mrs. Baikie at [email protected]or stop by the library. Options to replace lost/damaged books are:

(1) Replace the book. The book can be used–it does not have to be new.

(2) Replace the book with another title. Books from Little Free Libraries that are in good condition are a great way to replace one title with a different title.

(3) Work with Mrs. Baikie to find a solution.

The Mountain View Public Library has their Summer Reading webpage up for students to register. There is a Summer Reading Kick-Off on Monday, June 9th from 6:30-7:30 pm.
