Math Festival Game Night next Wednesday 3/6, 5:30-7pm!

COME JOIN US for a night full of math games, learn math strategies and eat some pizza and salad! There will be many tables full of games with Mountain View High School, Los Altos High School, and WEB students as the docents! They will help explain the games, strategies, and skills. You will walk away knowing more about math strategies with a smile on your face from all the fun you had with your child!

Read Across America Celebrations!

During the month of March we are keeping our momentum going with fun incentives for reading! Reading has been a large goal of ours this year based on data and our scores are going up! Please continue to have fun reading with your child every day for just 10-20 minutes a day! As a child I have so many fond memories of weekly trips to the library. It felt so amazing to be able to choose and check out my library books. The great news is that the mobile library comes this week to Theuerkauf after school on Thursday from 12-1 pm by the office! Come pick out some great books with your child then!

In school we will kick off Reading Across America with spirit week!

Monday - Cozy up with a good book - Wear your pajamas

Tuesday - Book Character Day -Dress up as your favorite book character (or wear a shirt with words on it)

Wednesday - Crazy about Reading - Wear crazy socks or crazy hair

Thursday - Reading makes us bright - wear bright colors and sunglasses (school will provide sunglasses!)

Friday - Read for your future - dress up as what you want to be when you grow up or make a nametag with the job you want!

Safari Bingo!

Book Safari Bingo arrives in March with Cheetahs working together to read 5000 books or articles. Students are encouraged to read every day across multiple genres as well as fiction and nonfiction. Reading can be done on PebbleGo (Clever), Libby/Sora (Clever), physical books, and more of our MVWSD applications. Check out books from the Theuerkauf library or the public library to complete the Book Safari Bingo and win prizes. Make reading fun this month by reading together, to a pet or a plant, or reading in a cozy spot. Get in on the adventure and ask your student to share the Book Safari Bingo card with you!

Celebrating Women’s History Month in March!

For Women’s History Month, Expect Respect members will say a quote from an important woman in history on the morning announcements every Friday in March! They are also setting up opportunities for students to make cards for important women in their lives during recess with conversations about our core values! We are proud of our student leaders in Expect Respect showing leadership through these important monthly celebrations.

I can’t wait to see you at the Bookmobile by our library on Thursday from 12-1pm!

Warm Regards,

Principal Danielle Lyons
